If you're driving, start from downtown Salem, MA. Head south on Washington Street toward Derby Street. Continue on Derby Street for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Fort Avenue. Turn left onto Fort Avenue. Follow Fort Avenue as it curves around, and you'll see the entrance to Winter Island Park on your left. There is parking available within the park, but be aware that there may be a small parking fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Winter Island via public transportation, take the MBTA commuter rail from Boston to Salem. Once you arrive at Salem Station, exit the station and head to the bus stop located on Washington Street. Board the MBTA bus route 450 towards Beverly. Ask the driver to let you off at the intersection of Fort Avenue and Winter Island. From there, you will have a short walk to the entrance of Winter Island Park. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the latest departure and arrival times.

If you're already in the Salem area and prefer to walk, head towards the waterfront. From the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, walk along the waterfront toward the south. Follow the path along the water, and eventually, you will reach Fort Avenue. Continue on Fort Avenue until you see the entrance for Winter Island Park on your right. This walk can take about 30 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the views along the way.
