Getting There

Bicycle
Start your journey in Edgartown, where you can rent a bicycle at one of the local rental shops. From Edgartown center, head southeast on Main Street towards Dock Street. Continue onto the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road (Route 3) for about 2 miles. When you reach the fork, take a right onto Chappaquiddick Road. After about 1 mile, you will come to the Chappaquiddick Ferry terminal. Take the ferry across to Chappaquiddick Island. Once you disembark, cycle straight onto Lighthouse Road. Follow Lighthouse Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach Cape Poge Lighthouse.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, begin your journey in Edgartown. Head towards the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road (Route 3) and follow the same path as cyclists, about 2 miles. When you get to the Chappaquiddick Ferry terminal, you will need to purchase a ticket for the ferry to Chappaquiddick Island. Once you arrive, continue walking along Lighthouse Road. The lighthouse is approximately 1.5 miles from the ferry terminal. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!

From any location in Martha's Vineyard, make your way to the nearest bus stop that services the VTA (Vineyard Transit Authority). Board the bus that heads to Edgartown. Once you reach Edgartown, follow the same instructions as the bicycle or walking options to reach the Chappaquiddick Ferry terminal. After crossing to Chappaquiddick Island, you can either walk or rent a bike to reach Cape Poge Lighthouse, which is about 1.5 miles down Lighthouse Road.
