From the center of Mohawk Trail State Forest, head southeast on Route 2 (Mohawk Trail) toward Charlemont. Continue for approximately 6 miles until you reach the junction with MA-8A. Turn left onto MA-8A and continue for about 3 miles. Kenneth Dubuque Memorial State Forest will be on your right. Look for the entrance sign. There is no entrance fee, but parking may be limited during peak seasons.
Public Transportation
Using public transportation, take the FRTA (Franklin Regional Transit Authority) bus service from the nearest town with a bus stop to Mohawk Trail State Forest, which is likely Charlemont. Check the FRTA schedule for bus routes that head towards Hawley. Once you arrive at Hawley, you will need to walk approximately 2 miles along MA-8A to reach Kenneth Dubuque Memorial State Forest. Be aware that public transportation may have limited schedules, especially on weekends and holidays.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can take a bike route from Mohawk Trail State Forest. Start at the main parking area and head southeast on Route 2. After about 6 miles, turn left onto MA-8A.
