Bank Street Beach: A Coastal Paradise in Harwich Port

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in downtown Nantucket, start by heading east on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Union Street. Turn left onto Union Street and walk until you reach the end of the street. At the end of Union Street, turn right onto Orange Street. Follow Orange Street until you reach the intersection with West Creek Road, then turn left. Continue on West Creek Road for a short distance until you reach the intersection with Bank Street. Turn right onto Bank Street and walk towards the beach. Bank Street Beach will be on your left at 16 Bank St.

• Biking

  From the town center, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops. Start by biking east on Main Street. When you reach the intersection with Union Street, turn left and continue straight. Keep biking until you reach Orange Street, where you will turn right. Continue on Orange Street until you reach West Creek Road. Turn left onto West Creek Road and then make another left onto Bank Street. Bike along Bank Street until you see Bank Street Beach on your left at 16 Bank St.

• Public Transportation

  Catch the local shuttle bus from the nearest bus stop in town (check schedules as they may vary). You will want to board the shuttle heading towards Harwich Port. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Bank Street. The shuttle will drop you off close to the intersection of Bank Street and West Creek Road. Once you get off, walk down Bank Street towards the beach. Bank Street Beach will be located at 16 Bank St, just a short walk from the drop-off point.
