Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Nantucket Town Center, head south on Main Street towards the intersection with Union Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Orange Street. Turn left onto Orange Street and walk until you hit the intersection with York Street. Turn right onto York Street. The Museum of African American History will be on your left at 27 & 29 York St, Nantucket, MA 02554. It's about a 15-minute walk from the Town Center.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Nantucket. Start from the Town Center and head south on Main Street. Continue to the intersection with Union Street and turn left onto Orange Street. Cycle along Orange Street until you reach York Street. Turn right on York Street, and the Museum of African American History is located at 27 & 29 York St, which is approximately a 10-minute bike ride from the Town Center.

• Public Transportation

  Although Nantucket does not have a public bus system, you can use the local shuttle service called the 'Nantucket Shuttle' which operates during the tourist season. Check the shuttle schedule for a stop near the Town Center. Once on the shuttle, ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to York Street. After disembarking, walk towards York Street, and the Museum of African American History will be at 27 & 29 York St, just a short walk away.
