From downtown New Bedford, start at the New Bedford Whaling Museum located at 18 Johnny Cake Hill. Head north on Johnny Cake Hill towards Union Street. Turn left onto Union Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Purchase Street. Turn right onto Purchase Street and follow it until you reach the waterfront.
