    If you're driving from downtown Newburyport, start by heading south on State Street towards Merrimac Street. Continue on Merrimac Street and turn left onto Route 1 South. Follow Route 1 South for approximately 12 miles. Then, take the exit towards MA-128 N/Gloucester. Merge onto MA-128 N and continue for about 7 miles. Take exit 14 for MA-127 toward Gloucester. Merge onto MA-127 and follow it into Gloucester. After about 2 miles, keep left to stay on MA-127, following signs for Gloucester. Once you enter downtown Gloucester, look for the Fishermen's Memorial which will be on your right, located at the waterfront near the harbor.
