Walking
From the center of Provincetown, head west on Commercial Street towards the harbor. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Bradford Street. Turn left onto Bradford Street and follow it as it continues to the west. After about a half mile, you will reach the intersection with Route 6. Cross over to the other side of Route 6 (be cautious, as it is a busy road). Once across, continue straight onto Province Lands Road. Follow Province Lands Road for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will see the signs for Herring Cove Beach on your right. The beach access will be just past the parking area.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, start from the center of Provincetown and head west on Commercial Street. Continue until you reach Bradford Street, then turn left. Follow Bradford Street until it meets Route 6. Carefully cross Route 6 and continue straight onto Province Lands Road. Biking is permissible on this road, and you can enjoy the scenic views as you ride for about 1.5 miles. Look for the signs indicating Herring Cove Beach, which will be on your right just after the parking lot.
Public Transportation
Take the Provincetown Shuttle bus, which runs frequently from various points in town. Board the shuttle at any designated stop and request a stop at Herring Cove Beach or Province Lands Road. The shuttle will take you directly to the beach area, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and sandy shores without the need for walking or biking.
