If you are driving from Salem to Post Office Square in Boston, start by getting on MA-1A S from Salem. Follow MA-1A S for approximately 5 miles until you reach the junction with I-95 S. Merge onto I-95 S and continue for about 18 miles. Take exit 20A to merge onto I-93 S toward Boston. Continue on I-93 S for about 5 miles and take exit 20 toward Government Center. Keep left at the fork and follow signs for Surface Rd. Continue on Surface Rd for 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at Post Office Square, located on your right.
Public Transportation
To get to Post Office Square from Salem using public transportation, start by walking to the Salem MBTA train station. You will take the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail line on the Newburyport/Rockport Line toward Boston. The train ride to North Station takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at North Station, transfer to the Green Line subway at the North Station stop. Take the Green Line toward Government Center and get off at the Government Center stop. From there, it's a short walk to Post Office Square, which is located just a few blocks away. Head southwest on Tremont St toward Beacon St, continue onto Court St, and you will reach Post Office Square.
