Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on Route 128 North from anywhere in South Coast. Follow Route 128 North until you reach the exit for Gloucester (Exit 14). Merge onto Route 133 East and continue straight for about 2 miles. Then, take a left onto Hesperus Avenue. The Hammond Castle Museum will be on your right at 80 Hesperus Ave, Gloucester, MA 01930. Parking is available on site but may incur a small fee, so be prepared with some cash.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Hammond Castle Museum using public transportation, start by taking the MBTA train (Rockport Line) from South Coast to the Gloucester station. Once you arrive at Gloucester station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the museum, which is approximately 3 miles away. Alternatively, check local bus services that may provide routes from the train station to the museum. Be sure to verify the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary.

• Walking

  If you find yourself near the main attractions of Gloucester, you may also choose to walk to Hammond Castle Museum. From downtown Gloucester, head northwest on Main Street toward Washington Street. Continue on Main Street until you reach Route 127. Turn left onto Route 127 and walk for about 1.5 miles. Finally, turn right onto Hesperus Avenue, and the museum will be a short walk ahead on your right. This walk may take approximately 30 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes.
