Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Lowell City Hall, head southwest on Merrimack St toward Dutton St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Central St. Turn left onto Central St and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will come to the Lowell Transit Center at 100 Thorndike St. From there, take the MBTA Commuter Rail from Lowell Station to North Station in Boston. Once at North Station, transfer to the Orange Line subway towards Oak Grove. Get off at Haymarket Station and transfer to the Green Line towards Government Center. Continue to Park Street Station and switch to the Red Line towards Alewife. Get off at Charles/MGH Station and walk towards the Charles River. Cross the Charles River via the Longfellow Bridge, and continue straight onto Charles St. After about 0.7 miles, turn left onto 1st Ave. Continue walking until you reach the Charlestown Navy Yard at the intersection of 1st Ave and 3rd St.
