If you are in downtown Lowell, start by heading towards Merrimack Street. From there, walk southeast towards the intersection with Dutton Street. Continue straight on Dutton Street until you reach the intersection with the Lowell Connector. Turn right onto the Lowell Connector and follow the signs towards Route 3. This route will lead you to the nearest bus stop where you can catch a bus to Boston. The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Boston, follow signs to Downtown Crossing, which is a major transit hub.

Public Transit
From any location in Lowell, make your way to the Lowell Transit Center located at 100 Thorndike Street. Once there, board the MBTA bus 350 towards Alewife Station. This bus will take you directly to Alewife Station in Cambridge. At Alewife, transfer to the Alewife-bound train on the Red Line. Ride this train towards Ashmont and get off at Downtown Crossing. The whole journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on wait times and transfers.

Continue along the path until you reach the intersection with Route 3.
