Car
If you are traveling by car from anywhere in The Islands, you will need to head towards Route 28. Depending on your starting point, follow signs to Route 28 North towards Barnstable. After approximately 25 miles, merge onto Route 6 toward Boston. Continue on Route 6, then take exit 7B for I-93 North toward New Hampshire. After about 15 miles, take exit 20A for I-95 North toward Maine. Follow I-95 North and take exit 48 for I-495 North toward Lowell. Merge onto I-495 North, and after about 15 miles, take exit 38 for I-90 East toward Boston. Continue on I-90, then take exit 18 for I-93 North towards New Hampshire. Follow I-93 North and take exit 20 for MA-28 toward Salem. Follow signs for Salem, and you will arrive at the Salem Witch Museum at 19 1/2 N Washington Square. Note that parking may incur fees, typically around $1-2 per hour in nearby lots.
Public Transportation
To reach the Salem Witch Museum via public transportation, start by taking the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus service from The Islands to the nearest train station, which is usually in Hyannis. From Hyannis, board the MBTA commuter rail on the CapeFLYER to South Station in Boston. Once at South Station, transfer to the Orange Line subway and take it towards Oak Grove. Get off at North Station and transfer to the commuter rail line towards Salem. This train will take you directly to Salem Station. Upon arriving at Salem Station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the museum. Head east on Washington Street, turning left on Hawthorne Blvd, and continue to N Washington Square. Keep in mind that train tickets may cost around $10-$15 one way, depending on your route, and be sure to check the schedule as services may vary.
