Getting There

  • Bus

    From Waltham, walk to the Waltham MBTA Bus Station located at 25 Crescent Street. Take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife. After approximately 35 minutes, get off at Alewife Station. From there, transfer to the Alewife subway station and take the Red Line towards Ashmont. After about 20 minutes, get off at Park Street Station. Once you exit the station, walk northeast on Tremont Street for about 5 minutes, and you will reach Boston Common at 139 Tremont St.

  • Train

    Walk to the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station located at 200 South Street. Board the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station. After around 25 minutes, get off at the North Station. From North Station, walk to the Government Center subway station (approximately 10 minutes). Take the Green Line (C or E branch) towards Kenmore and get off at Park Street Station. Exit the station and walk northeast on Tremont Street for about 5 minutes to reach Boston Common at 139 Tremont St.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer riding a bike, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service in Waltham. Start at the Waltham Common and head east on Main Street. Continue on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Moody Street, then turn right. Follow Moody Street which turns into River Street and leads you towards Charles River. Once you reach the river, follow the path along the riverbank until you connect to the bike path that leads toward Boston. Continue along the path until you reach the Boston area. From there, navigate to Tremont Street and follow it to Boston Common at 139 Tremont St.

  • Walking

    If you're up for a long walk, start from downtown Waltham and head south on Main Street. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Newton Street. Turn left onto Newton Street and continue straight until you reach the Charles River. Walk along the river path, which will eventually lead you into Boston. Once you arrive in Boston, continue heading east until you reach Tremont Street, then walk north on Tremont Street for about 10 minutes to reach Boston Common at 139 Tremont St.
