From Waltham, head to the nearest bus stop and take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Alewife station and transfer to the Alewife train station on the Red Line. Take the train towards Ashmont/Braintree and get off at the Park Street station. From Park Street, follow the signs to Boston Common. The Boston Common Visitors Center is located at 139 Tremont St, just a short walk from the park entrance.

Begin your journey at the Waltham MBTA Station. Board a Fitchburg Line train towards South Acton. After about 30 minutes, transfer at the North Station to the Orange Line. Take the Orange Line towards Forest Hills and get off at Haymarket station. From Haymarket, walk towards the Boston Common, which will take about 10 minutes. The Visitors Center is located at 139 Tremont St.

If you are in the Waltham area, you can walk to the Boston Common Visitors Center. Start by heading south on Main St towards Felton St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Moody St. Turn right onto Moody St and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Turn left and continue straight to follow Washington St until you reach the Charles River. Cross the river via the pedestrian bridge and continue along the path towards Boston. This walk will take approximately 2 hours, covering a distance of about 6 miles.
