From Waltham, head to the nearest bus stop and take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife. Ride until you reach Alewife Station. Transfer to the Alewife subway line (Red Line) towards Ashmont/Braintree. Get off at Park Street Station. From there, walk towards Boston Common, which is approximately a 5-minute walk. The Boston Common Carousel is located at 45 Beacon St, right by the Frog Pond.

Make your way to the Waltham MBTA train station. Take the Fitchburg Line towards South Acton. Get off at the North Station. From North Station, walk to the Haymarket Station (about 15 minutes). Take the Green Line (C or E line) towards Heath Street. Get off at the Park Street Station. The Boston Common Carousel is a short walk from there, located at 45 Beacon St.

If you are already in downtown Waltham, head towards Main Street and walk towards the Waltham Common. Walk along Main Street towards the Charles River. Once you reach the river, follow the path towards the north until you reach the Waltham MBTA station. From there, you can catch a bus or train to Boston. Alternatively, you can walk to Boston, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Follow the main roads, and use a map app for navigation.
