    From the center of Black River, head towards the main road (B9). Walk along the B9 towards the direction of Vacoas-Phoenix. After approximately 2 kilometers, keep an eye out for local signs indicating the direction to Black River Gorges National Park. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of the park, which is typically marked. The hike to Mare Aux Joncs starts from this point, where you will follow designated hiking trails.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Black River, walk to the nearest bus stop on the B9 road. Board a bus heading towards Vacoas-Phoenix. Make sure to inform the bus driver you are going to Black River Gorges. The journey should take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vacoas-Phoenix bus terminal, follow the signs to the entrance of the Black River Gorges National Park. The entrance is about a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal. The hiking trails leading to Mare Aux Joncs will start from here.
