Car
From the main town of Creel in Copper Canyon, head southwest on Highway 16 (Carretera Federal 16) towards the town of San Juanito. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Highway 24. Turn left onto Highway 24 and follow it for about 40 kilometers. You will see signs indicating the direction to Cascada Basaseachic. After passing through the small town of Basaseachic, continue for 10 kilometers until you reach the parking area for the waterfall. Be mindful of the road conditions, as some sections may be unpaved. There is no entry fee for parking.
Public Transportation
From Creel, take a local bus or taxi to the town of San Juanito. The buses typically run several times a day, but it's best to check the schedule in advance. Once in San Juanito, you can hire a taxi to take you the remaining 40 kilometers to Cascada Basaseachic. Arranging the taxi in advance is advisable; the cost should be around 500-700 pesos depending on negotiation. The waterfall area is accessible, but confirm with the taxi driver about the return trip timing.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can hike to Cascada Basaseachic from Basaseachic village. This hike is about 10 kilometers and takes approximately 3-4 hours each way. The trail is marked, but be sure to wear sturdy hiking boots and carry enough water and snacks.
