Bicycle
If you're starting from the downtown area of Cozumel, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head south on Avenida Benito Juárez until you reach the intersection with Avenida 5. Turn left onto Avenida 5 and continue until you reach the end of the street. There, you will find a sign for Playa del Carmen. Follow the signs leading you to Playacar Beach, which is approximately a 20-minute ride from downtown.
Walking
From downtown Cozumel, head south along the waterfront promenade (Malecon). Walk past the ferry terminal and continue along the coast. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the end of the promenade. At this point, turn left onto Avenida 5 and follow it straight until you reach Playacar Beach. The entire walk takes about 30-40 minutes and offers beautiful ocean views.
Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi. Go to one of the designated taxi stands in downtown Cozumel, and let the driver know you want to go to Playacar Beach. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before getting in, as some taxis may not use a meter.
Public Transportation (Collectivo)
You can also use a 'collectivo' (shared van) for a budget-friendly option. From downtown, walk to the main square (Plaza Central) and look for the collectivo signs. Get on a collectivo heading towards Playa del Carmen and ask the driver to drop you off at Playacar Beach. The journey takes around 15-20 minutes, and it costs a small fee, usually less than 50 pesos.
