If you are traveling by car, start your journey from any location in Eastern Mexico by heading towards the U.S.-Mexico border. The closest major border crossing is the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Once you cross into the United States, follow I-5 North towards San Diego. Take exit 21 for CA-75 toward Coronado. Follow CA-75, and then take the exit for CA-209. Continue on CA-209, which will lead you directly to Point Loma. Follow the signs to Cabrillo National Monument located at 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr, San Diego, CA 92106. Be aware of potential tolls on some routes and costs associated with crossing the border.

Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, begin your journey by taking a bus from your location in Eastern Mexico to Tijuana. From Tijuana, take the San Ysidro bus to cross the border into San Diego. Once you are in San Diego, transfer to the San Diego Trolley (Blue Line) and head to the America Plaza Station. From there, take the bus #84 or #35 towards Point Loma. The bus will take you close to Cabrillo National Monument. Note that you will need to purchase a Tijuana-San Diego bus ticket, and a separate ticket for the San Diego public transport system.
