Tehuacalco Fascinating Archaeological Site Just 60 Minutes Away!

Amazing culture, beautiful setting

Visiting the ruins was a fantastic experience in my trip to Acapulco. My guide Jose was very knowledgeable of the region and explained some on the way to the site. At the site, we met up with the former owner Señor Poli, and he explained everything in great detail. I learned so much. The ruins were great to see, but also the surrounding mountains and forest.

Tehuacalco Archaeological Site Experience 1 Hour From Acapulco

Interesting and good exercise

I took my family (husband and two girls, 7 and 3) on this tour with Rudy and Roger. Ernesto, the ruins guide, knew a lot about this place. It has a brutal sacrificial history, amazing views from the top of the pyramid and a fascinating story about a giant and his boulder. Try the mutated bumpy looking fruit hanging from the trees at the beginning of the walk, it tastes and feels like cake! Take lots of water and good shoes, there is a bit of uphill climbing and never turn your back on the walk down the pyramid steps! If you find yourself a bit sensitive to the area and feel a slight itch on your leg, rub a bit of the hot dry dirt, worked wonders for my daughter.
