We had a lovely evening with Samira! The food was soooo good and it was really nice to get off the beaten path and learn about the history of the area and get authentic Mexican cuisine. So much better than what is around 5th Ave! A lot of walking but worth it.

Amazing instruction from Chef Isa

So glad that my husband and I decided to go this cooking class! Our group was fairly large (8 people total), but managed to squeeze into the market and listen to her explain the various chiles used in traditional Mexican cooking and her preferences based on what flavors she wanted. We then walked to her beautiful home that honestly looked curated for a home magazine. Even though we all opted for different recipes (including two different types of guacamole and handmade tortillas), Chef Isa masterfully instructed us on the various meals. We opted for the Tikin Xic Fish while others chose A la Talla Fish, Chicken Mole, fish ceviche, etc. My favorite was the A la Talla Fish, but my husband preferred the Tikin Xic Fish for the spicy poblano sauce. It was quite the feast at the end and drank some tequila. Next time we visit, we hope to book with Chef Isa and try making beef birria.

Great tour. Enrique was very nice and very knowledgeable. He taught us alot about Mayan/Mexican/Aztec history and culture while taking us to some of the non-tourist, “off the beaten path” spots which is exactly what we wanted. We were stuffed by the end of the tour and had to get our last couple of samples to-go.
