Car
If you are driving from the center of Tierra Caliente, start by heading northwest on the main highway (Carretera Federal 15) towards Uruapan. Continue on this highway for approximately 35 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Carretera Morelia - Uruapan (Michoacán 14). Take the exit towards Uruapan. Continue on this road for about 12 kilometers until you see signs for Tangancícuaro de Arista. Follow the signs to Tangancícuaro and then take the local road Cam. del Lago towards Santa Anita, where the park entrance is located. The total drive time should be around 1 hour, depending on traffic.

Public Transportation
To reach Lago de Camécuaro by public transportation, first take a bus from Tierra Caliente to Uruapan. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Uruapan, you will need to transfer to a local bus heading to Tangancícuaro de Arista. This second leg of the journey will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving in Tangancícuaro, you can take a taxi or a local colectivo (shared van) to Cam. del Lago in Santa Anita. The taxi fare should be around 100-150 MXN.
