Getting There

    If you are driving from the center of Chapala, head southwest on Avenida Francisco I. Madero towards Calle Zaragoza. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the lakeshore. Once you arrive at the lake, turn left onto the lakeside road (Carretera Chapala-Jocotepec). Drive approximately 4 kilometers along the lake until you see signs for Isla del Presidió. There will be a small parking area near the dock where you can leave your car.

    From the central bus station in Chapala, take a local bus heading towards Jocotepec. The bus will stop along the lakeshore. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Isla del Presidió. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, walk towards the dock where boats depart for Mezcala Island. Make sure to check the boat schedule as they may not run frequently.
