Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Tulum, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Head north on Avenida Tulum until you reach the junction with Carretera Federal 307. Turn left onto the highway (Carretera Federal 307) and continue riding north for approximately 25 kilometers. Look for signs for 'Cenote Azul' as you approach Playa del Carmen. The cenote will be on your right-hand side, just off the highway. Follow the signs to the entrance.

  • Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

    From the main bus station in Tulum, walk to the colectivo stand, which is located on Calle Centauro Norte. Catch a colectivo heading to Playa del Carmen. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Playa del Carmen, ask the driver to drop you off at 'Cenote Azul.' It is well-known, and they will know where to take you. After getting off, walk a short distance to the entrance of the cenote.

  • Walking

    If you're feeling adventurous and are staying close to Playa del Carmen, you can walk from the town. Start from the beach area and head towards Avenida 30. Walk along Avenida 30 until you reach Carretera Federal 307. Turn left onto the highway and walk north for about 3 kilometers. Be cautious as the highway can be busy. Look for the signs for 'Cenote Azul' on your right side, and follow them to the entrance.
