Bicycle
If you're starting in Tulum town center, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops. Head east on Avenida Tulum until you reach the Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila road. Turn left onto Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila and continue straight for about 5 kilometers. Look for signs for Playa Maya on your right. There may be a small entrance path leading to the beach.

From Tulum town center, head to Avenida Tulum and walk east until you reach the intersection with Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila. Turn left and follow the road for about 5 kilometers. Although it's a long walk, you can enjoy the scenery along the way. Once you see Playa Maya on your right, take the small path leading to the beach.

Hail a taxi from anywhere in Tulum and tell the driver you want to go to Playa Maya. The fare will vary, but expect to pay around 100-150 pesos. The taxi will take you directly to the beach entrance on Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila. Confirm with the driver to drop you off at Playa Maya.

Locate a collectivo van at the main station in Tulum (near the ADO bus station). Board a collectivo heading towards Playa del Carmen. Inform the driver you want to get off at Playa Maya. The drop-off point will be close to the beach access path. From there, walk a short distance to reach the beach.
