Car
If you're traveling by car, head to Tulum from any major city in Eastern Mexico. The most common routes include taking Highway 307 south from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Cozumel. Once you reach the Tulum area, follow the signs leading to the Zona Arqueologica (Archaeological Zone). Upon entering Tulum, use a GPS navigation system or a map app to locate Avenida Yalku. Tulum Tower is located at Avenida Yalku MZ10 Lote 3 Fracción 2, just off the main road. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation - ADO Bus
For public transportation, take an ADO bus from major cities such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Merida. Buses run frequently and tickets can be purchased at the bus station or online. Once you arrive at the Tulum bus station, which is located about 3 km from Tulum Tower, you can either take a taxi or use local colectivos (shared vans) that head towards the beach or Zona Arqueologica. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off near Avenida Yalku. The total cost for the bus ride is typically around $10-20 USD, and the taxi or colectivo fare will be an additional $5-10 USD.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer an eco-friendly option, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Tulum. After arriving at the bus station, you can rent a bike for around $5-10 USD per day. From the station, cycle along the main road towards the beach and follow the signs directing you to Avenida Yalku. It's approximately a 20-minute bike ride to Tulum Tower, allowing you to enjoy the scenery along the way. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
