Walking
If you are starting from downtown Bay City, head east on Center Avenue towards the Saginaw River. Once you reach the river, turn left onto the Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk north until you reach the intersection with 7th Street. Turn right onto 7th Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Johnson Street. Turn left onto Johnson Street, which will take you toward the Tobico Marsh area. Follow Johnson Street until it curves into State Park Drive, and then continue straight until you reach the Tobico Marsh Big Loop Trail Head.
Bicycle
From downtown Bay City, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Cycle east on Center Avenue towards the Saginaw River. Once you reach the river, turn left and follow the Riverwalk north. After about 1 mile, you will come to the intersection of 7th Street. Turn right on 7th Street and then turn left onto Johnson Street. Continue on Johnson Street until it turns into State Park Drive, leading you directly to the Tobico Marsh Big Loop Trail Head.
Public Transport
To reach Tobico Marsh Big Loop Trail Head using public transport, locate the nearest bus stop for the Bay Metro Transit system. Take the bus that heads towards the Bay City State Park area. Get off at the stop closest to the park entrance. From there, follow the signage towards the Tobico Marsh area, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop. Look for the trail signs to guide you to the Big Loop Trail Head.
