To reach the Grand Rapids Swing Bridge using the bus, start at the Grand Rapids Transit Center located at 250 Grandville Ave SW. Take the Route 6 bus heading towards the East Beltline. Ride for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the stop at Michigan St NE & Fuller Ave NE. From there, transfer to Route 7, which will take you towards downtown. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes until you reach the stop at Pearl St NW & Ottawa Ave NW. Disembark the bus and walk west on Pearl St NW for about 5 minutes until you reach the Grand Rapids Swing Bridge, located at approximately 42.9583° N latitude and -85.6809° W longitude.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-share stations available throughout downtown Grand Rapids. Start from downtown and head west on Pearl St NW. Continue along Pearl St NW for about 1 mile, and then turn left onto the bridge which is clearly marked. The Grand Rapids Swing Bridge will be on your right after crossing the river. This route takes about 15-20 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
Walking
For those who want to walk to the Grand Rapids Swing Bridge, begin at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum located at 303 Pearl St NW. Head west on Pearl St NW for about 0.5 miles. Keep walking straight until you reach the bridge area. The Grand Rapids Swing Bridge is located at approximately 42.9583° N latitude and -85.6809° W longitude, and you will see it right over the river as you approach. This walk should take around 10-15 minutes.
