If you are driving from downtown Harbor Springs, start by heading south on State Rd toward M-119. Turn left onto M-119 N and continue for about 9 miles. Merge onto US-31 N toward Petoskey, and follow this road for about 10 miles. Keep left to merge onto I-75 N toward Mackinaw City. Take exit 337 for US-23 N toward Mackinaw City. Continue on US-23 N for about 15 miles. When you reach Mackinaw City, turn right onto Huron Ave. Colonial Michilimackinac will be on your right at 800 N Huron Ave. There is parking available nearby.

For public transportation, you can take the Straits Area Transit bus service from Harbor Springs to Mackinaw City. The bus will take you along US-31 N. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. Once you arrive in Mackinaw City, get off at the main stop and walk north on Huron Ave for about 0.5 miles. Colonial Michilimackinac will be on your right at 800 N Huron Ave. It's a short, pleasant walk from the bus stop to the museum.
