Getting There

Car
If you're driving, start on US-23 North. From there, take M-72 West towards Oscoda. Continue straight on M-72 until you reach the intersection with M-65. Turn left onto M-65 South. Follow M-65 until you reach the Tawas City area. Here, you will turn onto M-55 West, which will take you toward the Huron National Forest. After approximately 25 miles, you will turn right onto Au Sable Road. Drive down Au Sable Road until you reach the parking area for the Au Sable Light Station. Note that there is a parking fee of $10 for a day pass.

Public transportation options are limited, so it is recommended to use a taxi service or rideshare app from the nearest city. If you are in Oscoda, you can take a taxi to the Au Sable Light Station. The hike is about 1.5 miles one way, and it's a beautiful path through the woods leading directly to the lighthouse.
