Car
If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto US-31 N from your current location in Lower Peninsula. Depending on where you are, you may need to navigate local roads to reach US-31. Continue on US-31 N until you reach the exit for M-37 N towards Traverse City. Merge onto M-37 N and continue for approximately 16 miles. When you reach the intersection with M-72, turn left onto M-72 W. Drive for about 5 miles until you reach the roundabout and take the first exit onto Peninsula Drive. Follow Peninsula Drive for about 8 miles, and it will take you directly to Old Mission Peninsula. This route offers scenic views of the Grand Traverse Bay along the way.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you will first need to reach Traverse City, which is the closest major city to Old Mission Peninsula. Various bus services, such as the Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA), operate routes from different locations in Lower Peninsula to Traverse City. Once you arrive in Traverse City, you can either take a taxi, rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft), or rent a car to reach Old Mission Peninsula. The distance from downtown Traverse City to Old Mission Peninsula is approximately 18 miles, taking about 30 minutes by car.
