Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards I-94, which is a major highway running east-west across the Lower Peninsula. Depending on your starting location, you can enter I-94 from various points. Once you are on I-94, drive towards Exit 34 for Sawyer. After exiting, turn left onto Red Arrow Highway (M-63). Continue on Red Arrow Highway for about 2 miles. Warren Dunes State Park will be on your left at 12032 Red Arrow Hwy, Sawyer, MI 49125. Look for the park entrance signs.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound bus or Amtrak train to the nearest station, which is in Bangor, MI. From Bangor, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to cover the remaining distance of approximately 10 miles to Warren Dunes State Park. Be sure to check the schedules in advance, as services may not be frequent.

• Bicycle

  If you are an adventurous traveler and wish to bike to Warren Dunes State Park, you can use the local roads leading to the park. Ensure you have a map or GPS device, as you will navigate through rural areas. The safest route from a town like Sawyer is to take Red Arrow Highway directly to the park. Be aware of traffic and prepare for a ride of about 2-3 miles depending on your starting point.

  Please note that there is an entrance fee for Warren Dunes State Park. As of the latest information, the daily vehicle pass is $17. Alternatively, a Michigan Recreation Passport is available for $12, which provides access to all state parks for a year. Ensure to have cash or a credit card ready for the entrance fee.
