Getting There

• Walking

  From downtown Mackinac Island, head northeast on Main Street. Follow the signs towards Fort Mackinac and the East Bluff Trail. Once you reach the East Bluff Trail, take the path that leads you along the scenic waterfront. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Cadotte Avenue. Turn left onto Cadotte Avenue and proceed until you reach the entrance to the Mackinac Island State Park. Follow the park trails that lead you through the natural beauty of the island. Look for signs directing you to Castle Rock as you climb the wooded paths. The walk will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace and stops along the way for photos or to enjoy the scenery.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in downtown Mackinac Island. Start your ride on Main Street, heading northeast towards Fort Mackinac. Continue past the fort and take the East Bluff Trail. Follow the trail, which is clearly marked, until you reach the intersection with Cadotte Avenue. Turn left onto Cadotte Avenue and ride along the scenic route until you reach the entrance to Mackinac Island State Park. Continue cycling through the park, following the signs to Castle Rock. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, and you can stop along the way to take in the views.

• Horse-drawn carriage

  Head to the nearest carriage tour departure point in downtown Mackinac Island. You can find various carriage operators that offer rides to popular attractions. Inform the driver that you would like to visit Castle Rock. The carriage will take you through the island's scenic paths, and the ride will last approximately 20-30 minutes. Upon arrival, you can disembark and explore Castle Rock at your leisure.
