Start at the Muskegon Transit Center located at 399 W Western Ave. Take the Muskegon Area Transit System (MATS) bus Route 1 towards the Lakeshore. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Lake Harbor Rd and Broadway Ave. From there, it’s about a 1.5-mile walk to the entrance of P. J. Hoffmaster State Park.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from downtown Muskegon and head north on Western Ave. Turn left onto Park St and continue until you reach Lake Harbor Rd. Follow Lake Harbor Rd directly to P. J. Hoffmaster State Park. The ride will take about 25-30 minutes and is approximately 5 miles.

If you're walking from downtown Muskegon, head north on Western Ave until you reach Lake Harbor Rd. Turn left onto Lake Harbor Rd and continue walking for about 4 miles. You will walk through a residential area and then enter into park territory. The walk will take approximately 1.5 hours.
