If you are starting from downtown Petoskey, head east on E Lake St toward the waterfront. Follow the waterfront path until you reach the intersection with US-31. Turn left onto US-31 and walk north. Continue walking on the sidewalk for about 1 mile until you reach Encampment Ave. Turn right onto Encampment Ave, and the Bay View Historical Museum will be on your left.

From downtown Petoskey, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop. Head east on E Lake St toward the waterfront and follow the scenic bike path along the lake. When you reach the intersection with US-31, you will need to cross the street carefully. Once on US-31, bike north for approximately 1 mile, then turn right onto Encampment Ave. The museum will be on your left-hand side.
