Getting There

  • Car

    From anywhere in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, head towards M-107. If you are at the Visitor Center, take the road leading out of the park (Park Road) until you reach the intersection with M-107. Turn left onto M-107 and continue for approximately 3 miles. You will see The Porkies Union Bay on your right. Make sure to check for any signs indicating the campground entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, if you can get to Ontonagon via a bus service, you can then take a local taxi service to M-107. From Ontonagon, the taxi ride to The Porkies Union Bay will take approximately 15 minutes. It is advisable to book your taxi in advance as services may not be readily available.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the vicinity of The Porkies Union Bay and wish to walk, head towards M-107 from your current location in the park. Follow the park trails until you reach the road. Once you reach M-107, turn right and walk for about 0.5 miles. The campground will be located on your left. Please ensure you are equipped for walking on uneven terrain and be cautious of traffic.
