From downtown Traverse City, head east on E Front St toward Union St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with E Grandview Pkwy. Cross the street and follow the park path that runs along the shoreline of Grand Traverse Bay. Stay on the path, enjoying the scenic views for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance to the Clinch Park area. Keep walking through Clinch Park until you see the signs directing you towards the trails. Continue on the marked trails that lead you through the wooded area, and after about 0.8 miles of hiking, you will arrive at Hippie Tree, which is known for its vibrant graffiti art and stunning natural surroundings.

Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Traverse City. Start your journey by heading east on E Front St, then take a left onto E Grandview Pkwy. Follow the park path along the bay for approximately 1 mile until you reach the Clinch Park entrance. Continue on the marked bike trails through the park and follow the signs for the hiking trails leading to Hippie Tree. The bike ride should take roughly 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.
