From the center of Big Woods, head west on County Road 5. Continue on this road for approximately 10 miles until you reach the intersection with MN-23. Take a left onto MN-23 South and drive for about 5 miles. Then, take a right onto Birch Lake Road. Follow Birch Lake Road for about 2 miles, and you will reach Birch Lakes State Forest at 31700 Birch Lake Rd, Melrose, MN 56352. Parking is available at the forest entrance.
Public Transportation
