Public Transit
If you are starting from downtown Duluth, head to the Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus stop. Take Route 11 (the North Shore route) towards Two Harbors. You will need to stay on the bus for about 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for the stop near the intersection of N Shore Dr and French River Rd. Once you get off the bus, walk north along N Shore Dr for about 0.6 miles, and you will arrive at French River Wayside located at 5350 N Shore Dr.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in downtown Duluth. From downtown, head east on Superior St until you reach 4th Ave E. Turn left and continue until you reach the Lakewalk. Follow the Lakewalk along the shoreline. When you reach the point where the Lakewalk intersects with N Shore Dr, turn left and continue for approximately 3 miles until you reach French River Wayside at 5350 N Shore Dr.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, begin your journey at Canal Park. Walk north along the shoreline on the Lakewalk. This scenic route will take you past beautiful views of Lake Superior. Continue on the Lakewalk until it merges with N Shore Dr. Follow N Shore Dr for about 3 miles, and you will find French River Wayside at 5350 N Shore Dr. The entire walk will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes at a leisurely pace.
