Bus
If you are starting from downtown Saint Paul, walk to the nearest bus stop on 5th St. and Robert St. Catch Metro Transit bus number 63 heading towards Minneapolis. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes, and get off at the stop at Washington Ave SE & 1st Ave SE. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the Upper Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam. Head west on Washington Ave SE, then turn left onto Portland Ave. Continue straight for about 0.3 miles until you reach the destination at 1 Portland Ave.
Light Rail
Begin at the Central Station on 4th St. in Saint Paul. Take the Green Line light rail towards Minneapolis. Ride for about 15 minutes and disembark at the U.S. Bank Stadium station. From there, transfer to the Blue Line light rail heading towards Mall of America. Get off at the Nicollet Mall station. Exit the station and walk north on Nicollet Mall. Turn left onto Portland Ave and walk for about 0.5 miles until you arrive at the Upper Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the many Nice Ride Minnesota bike-sharing stations located throughout Saint Paul. Head towards the Mississippi River by taking the bike path that runs along the river. Follow the path north until you reach the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. Cross the bridge and then continue onto Portland Ave. Follow Portland Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Upper Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam at 1 Portland Ave.
Walking
If you are near the RiverCentre in downtown Saint Paul, you can walk to the Upper Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam. Head west on 5th St. towards Kellogg Blvd. Continue on Kellogg Blvd until you reach the Mississippi River. Once at the river, turn left and follow the riverbank path north for about 1.5 miles. Eventually, you will reach the Stone Arch Bridge. Cross the bridge, and then continue onto Portland Ave. Walk south on Portland Ave for about 0.3 miles until you reach your destination at 1 Portland Ave.
