Getting There

• Car

  If you are already in Voyageurs National Park, start by heading towards the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, take the Rainy Lake Road north. Continue on Rainy Lake Road until you reach the junction with County Road 24. Turn left onto County Road 24 and follow the signs toward the Cruiser Lake Trailhead. You will drive approximately 7 miles before reaching the trailhead parking area. There is no entrance fee for the Cruiser Lake Trail, but parking may be limited, so arrive early.

• Public Transportation + Hiking

  For those relying on public transportation, you can take a bus or shuttle service from International Falls to the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Once you arrive at the Visitor Center, you will need to hike approximately 3 miles along Rainy Lake Road to reach the Cruiser Lake Trailhead. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water, as this hike may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Check local transit schedules for current bus times and routes.

• Bicycle

  Cycling is another great option for reaching the Cruiser Lake Trail. If you have a bike, start from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center and follow the same route as described for cars. There are bike racks at the trailhead where you can secure your bike before starting your hike. Ensure you have a map and know the biking regulations within the park.
