Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Great River Bluffs State Park from anywhere in the Minnesota Driftless Area, start by getting onto US-61 S (if coming from the north) or US-61 N (if coming from the south). Follow the signs leading you towards Winona. Once you are close to Winona, take the exit for MN-43 S. Continue on MN-43 S for about 5 miles. Look for the signs for Great River Bluffs State Park, and turn onto Kipp Dr. Follow Kipp Dr until you reach the park entrance at 43605 Kipp Dr, Winona, MN 55987. Note that there is a day pass fee of $7 to enter the park.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus to Winona. You can check the local bus schedules through the Minnesota Department of Transportation or local transit authority. Once you arrive in Winona, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Great River Bluffs State Park, as public transit does not provide direct access to the park. The distance from downtown Winona to the park is approximately 8 miles, so plan for a taxi fare that could be around $15-20.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous travelers, consider cycling to Great River Bluffs State Park. If you are in Winona, you can rent a bike from a local shop or use your own. Head south on MN-43, which has a bike lane for safer travel. The ride is approximately 8 miles and will take about 30-45 minutes depending on your cycling speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. Once you reach Kipp Dr, follow the road to the park entrance.
