Discover more about Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo

Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo, located in Tupelo, Mississippi, offers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of animals. Founded in 2001 by Dan Franklin, the park began as a cattle ranch before transitioning to a buffalo preserve. At one point, it boasted the largest buffalo herd east of the Mississippi River. The 210-acre park is home to over 260 animals, including American bison, zebras, camels, an African lion, ring-tailed lemurs, and more. Visitors can enjoy a drive-through safari experience, where they can encounter buffalo, zebras, Watusi cattle, and other animals roaming freely. The park also features a petting zoo, reptile exhibit, and playground. Interactive experiences include feeding goats, sheep, deer, and other animals. Kids can enjoy pony rides and a zipline. The park also hosts special events throughout the year, such as a pumpkin patch in October. The Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo is dedicated to preserving each individual animal in our care, in both health and enrichment, and educating the public through access to species scarcely found or non-existent elsewhere in Mississippi.
