The Himmelberger and Harrison Building, located at 323 N Fountain St in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is a significant historical landmark. Constructed in 1907-1908 by prominent businessmen J.H. Himmelberger and W.H. Harrison, the building is a five-story, H-shaped structure made of red brick. It was the first steel-reinforced concrete building in Cape Girardeau, showcasing innovative construction techniques for its time. The building's architecture features a recessed marble entry flanked by round Tuscan order columns. The exterior walls are smooth red brick accented with limestone elements. The south and east sides, facing Broadway and Fountain Streets, are more ornamental, with projecting window openings and molded limestone sills. Originally, an elaborate cornice line with dentil molding and a limestone balustrade adorned the top, but it was removed in 1936 due to deterioration. The H&H Building has served as a commercial center for the business community throughout its history. It's recognized as a cornerstone of the westward expansion of the Broadway Business District. The building is part of the Broadway and North Fountain Street Historic District. In 2003, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
