    Start at the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum located at 120 N Main St, Hannibal, MO 63401. From there, head south on Main Street for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with Broadway St. Turn left onto Broadway St and continue for approximately 0.5 miles. You will reach the junction where Broadway St becomes the MO-79 S. Follow MO-79 S for about 1 mile until you see signs for Steyermark Woods Conservation Area on your right. The entrance to the conservation area is located just off the highway. Note that the area may require a short hike to explore further.

  • Biking

    Start at the Hannibal Riverfront Park located at 600 N 3rd St, Hannibal, MO 63401. From the park, head northwest on the Riverfront Trail until it intersects with Main St. Continue along Main St, then turn onto Broadway St, following it as it leads to MO-79 S. Once you’re on MO-79 S, bike south for approximately 1 mile. Look for the entrance to the Steyermark Woods Conservation Area on your right. The total biking distance from the riverfront to the conservation area is about 2 miles.

    While there is limited public transit in Hannibal, you can start your journey from the nearest bus stop, which is located at 100 N Main St. Take the local bus towards the Hannibal Transit Center.
