From the Independence square, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the City of Independence bus route that goes towards the outskirts of the city. You will want to confirm whether the bus is heading in the direction of Kansas. If there’s no direct route, take a bus that leads to the nearest transfer point, where you can catch a bus towards Kansas. Ask the bus driver for the best route to the Little House on the Prairie Museum. Once you reach the stop closest to the museum, disembark and follow the signage directing you to 2507 CR, 3000 Rd.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Independence. Start from the city center, cycling north on N. Penn Ave. until you reach E. Main St. Turn left on E. Main St. and continue until you reach the intersection with CR, 3000 Rd. Turn right, and follow CR, 3000 Rd. all the way to 2507 CR, 3000 Rd, which is the location of the Little House on the Prairie Museum.

If you’re up for a long walk, start at the Independence square and head east on E. Main St. Continue straight until you reach the outskirts of the city, where the road turns into CR, 3000 Rd.
