From Chautauqua Hills, head north on County Road 20. Continue for about 8 miles until you reach the junction with US-160. Turn east onto US-160 and drive for approximately 10 miles. Look out for signs for Elk City, KS. After entering Elk City, follow the signs to the Elk River Hiking Trail, which is located just outside the town limits. There is no parking fee at the trailhead.
