As of January 1, 2025, Independence has implemented the IRIS on-demand rideshare program, replacing most fixed bus routes. Use the IRIS mobile app or call 816-205-8221 to book a ride to McCoy Park. The flat fare is $5 per person within Independence. RideKC Freedom paratransit is also available for eligible riders. Note that public transit options may be limited on Sundays, as IRIS operates Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
