If you are in downtown Independence, start by heading west on E Truman Rd toward S Liberty St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach N Spring St. Turn left onto N Spring St and walk for about 0.2 miles. Next, turn right onto W Maple Ave. The National Frontier Trails Museum will be on your left at 416 W Maple Ave, just a short walk from the intersection.

If you are near a bus stop, check the local bus schedules for the Independence Area Transit. You can take Bus Route 2, which travels along E Truman Rd. Get off at the stop near the intersection of N Spring St and E Truman Rd. From there, walk west on E Truman Rd, then turn left onto N Spring St, and finally turn right onto W Maple Ave. The museum will be on your left at 416 W Maple Ave.
